It depends on the work. A straightforward personal return is very different from a corporate year-end with payroll and HST attached. We quote a fixed fee after a short call, and that quote is what you pay.

Yes, and it is simpler than most people expect. We request your prior year filings and CRA authorization, review what was filed before, and continue from there. You do not need to have a difficult conversation with anyone first.

No. Most clients send documents securely and meet by phone or video. If you would rather sit down in person, our office is at Warden and Eglinton with parking on site.

Yes. Late filings are common and fixable. We work out what is outstanding, file the back years, and deal with the CRA on penalties and interest where there is a case to be made. The main thing is starting before the CRA contacts you.

Yes. We prepare returns involving foreign income, foreign property reporting on the T1135, and departure and residency questions for people moving in or out of Canada.

Sometimes, and often not yet. It depends on your income, how much you draw personally and what you are planning next. Ask us before you incorporate rather than after, because unwinding it is the expensive part.

Personal returns are due April 30. Self-employed individuals have until June 15 to file, though any balance owing is still due April 30. Corporations file within six months of their year end, with tax generally payable within three months.

Forward it to us before replying. Most letters are routine reviews asking for supporting documents, but the wording is often alarming. We handle the response on your behalf.

Generally once your revenue passes $30,000 over four consecutive quarters, though there are exceptions by industry. If you are close to that line, ask us before you cross it.

Through a secure upload link we send you. Please do not email tax slips or anything with a SIN on it as a plain attachment.
